64 Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise NEW FACE FOR 64 FERNY AVENUE, SURFERS PARADISE. This nine level office building completed in 1990 has just received a fresh new face lift that features a new front entry and canopy finished with white ALUCOBOND aluminium composite material. The combination of the original 1990 window glazing façade and the new white ALUCOBOND makes the building now appear very confident and refined. The glass and ALUCOBOND create a harmonious relationship of materials between the original building and the new street entry and canopy additions. Jacques De Bedout of ARCHIDIOM DESIGN Surfers Paradise designed the refurbishments with white ALUCOBOND panels to be installed in a landscape horizontal pattern which gives the building a stylish and contemporary look with a solid, monolithic entry. It’s a well-balanced composition delivered by the fresh and functional architecture of ARCHIDIOM DESIGN and the skilled installation by Composite Panels Australia. Its extensive new white entry façade, featuring more than 200 m², demanded a finished product that reflected an architectural entity which balanced both the existing shape and the perfect integration of new and existing colours, achieving unity and distinction with the streetscape of Surfers Paradise. Composite Panels Australia exercised their ALUCOBOND fabrication and installation experience to deliver seamless construction that was carried out efficiently and fast while the building still operated commercially. Alcan Composite’s ALUCOBOND aluminium composite material was originally developed in Germany to supply a light and flexible material for facades. Available in many different designs and colours, it addresses all architecture applications outside and inside and enables to create a style and an appropriate image for every building. Prescribed by architects internationally, ALUCOBOND is used all over the world since 1969. By the turn of the millennium, 70 million square meters of this durable and light aluminium composite panel had been sold world-wide. For almost 40 years, building owners and architects have successfully chosen the versatile ALUCOBOND as a construction material to turn their ideas into reality and to give buildings and skylines the shape of the future.
